Is Equipment Failure Rate Getting Better or Worse?

Choose from several different reliability analysis methods. The method in the example above estimates the chance of the analyzed equipment item failing for any reason (breakdown cause) during a 100 hour production run. Notice the Failure Rate is expressed in the direction it's headed. In this example the failure rate is decreasing. A decreasing failure rate is good but the estimate of a 1 in 3 chance of failure during a 100 hour run is not good and should be explored further (column 4).

Notice the date box on the left side of the screen. Maintsmart makes it simple to select date periods for the purposes of analysis and reporting. MaintSmart even lets you configure fiscal periods specific to your maintenance management operation if needed. (Otherwise fiscal periods default to calendar month - year). The box near the bottom of the screen Use Excel lets you select any of the columns (fields) from the grid and automatically chart them in Excel 97 or 2000. This added feature is included free with MaintSmart although Excel is NOT required by MaintSmart CMMS to experience its designed capabilities and power.
